Who Rules the FieldThere are many organizations that govern fastpitch softball. This includes all ages from youth to senior players. It is important to become familiar with at least a couple of these groups even if you feel that your group of teams are just a small local band of kids (all ages) that want to compete for fun. Knowing the rules

will do more then just make playing the game easier it also will help prevent a lot of  loud discussion between teams. These bodies give great guidelines for everything from the rules which vary by age, gender and so on to layout of the fields to helping you set up a tournament.
