DeMarini keeps hitting the drawing board and the testing cage to improve every new model of their top-selling bats to hit the market. The 2011 lineup is their heaviest-hitting bat attack yet and includes new and improved versions of their famous CF4 and the madly powerful Insane. Here’s a closer look at these new-for-2011 clubs.
DeMarini CF4 ST 2011
The CF4 has been taking it deep and finding the holes on high school and collegiate fields for years, and in the hands of the game’s best hitters has been proving its place as one of the top 5 bats in fastpitch, no doubt about it. Three new models include the CF4 ST -8 at 33”, the CF4 ST -9 in 32”, 33” and 34” in lengths and the CF4 ST -10 in 5 sizes from 30-34 inches. These bats pack twice the Silver Trace (ST) of previous renditions so they are stiffer throughout their length. The bat is still designed to recoil through the swing, flexing to store and release energy on contact – but when that contact comes there’s a lot more pop in it.
The breakdown of the roster looks like this.
DeMarini CF4 ST -8 is the most balanced bat in the rack at 25 ounces and 33 inches. It is a top choice for the ladies with its all-around performance for hitters throughout the lineup. It’s not a women’s bat per se, so if it feels right to you, give it a rip no matter what your name is.
DeMarini CF4 ST -9 has the largest sweet spot of any top bat in the game. Add to that an end-loaded feel and you’ll be driving the ball with greater authority this season with more opportunity to hit one deep than you’ve enjoyed before.
DeMarini CF4 ST -10 is made for free swingers who love high bat speed and the ability to adjust their swing to swat pitches anywhere in the strike zone. This bat will give you the chance to hit for the highest average of your career.
All the CF4 ST bats have as their foundation the patented DeMarini Pitch Black composite that allow for thinner barrel walls bonded and stacked together for more spring off the hitting surface. The bat is topped with the patented Clutch 2 end cap that redirects energy back into the barrel for added power. Swing a CF4 ST this season and you’ll be swinging dynamite at the plate.
Built on the foundation of the powerful CF4 ST, the Insane takes things in a power-crazed direction by redistributing the weight to put more of it at the barrel end. This end-loaded design creates more mass at contact and that can only mean one thing: more power every time you strike the ball. The big sticks in the lineup, the 3-6 hitters, will make fantastic use of the new DeMarini Insane, but it’s a bat that anyone wanting more drive should take a look at.
The DeMarini CF4 ST and Vendetta for Youth Fastpitch Players
The lighter weights of the DeMarini CF4 ST are perfect for younger players. Put a 20 or 21 ounce bat in the hands of your 12-15 year old slugger and he or she will start knocking the ball around like never before. The lightweight design will offer them the opportunity to learn greater bat control and help them improve contact right from the start.
The DeMarini Vendetta is a proven stick in the family and the Vendetta C6-12 is perfect for the younger player. It offers a huge -12 length to weight ratio in its 5 sizes, beginning at just 17 ounces and extending to 21 ounces. It’s loaded with DeMarini technology that includes a composite barrel and handle joined by the patented Half and Half power transfer technology that creates a whip-like action for higher barrel speed and harder contact. Outstanding bat control and the opportunity to learn good hitting mechanics are offered to youth players with the DeMarini Vendetta C6-12.
Once again, DeMarini has proven with their new 2011 models that they are the force to be reckoned with in diamond sports. Their new fastpitch softball bats are approved by all the sanctioning bodies and will deliver higher averages and better power – and that’s exactly what any of us wants from our next bat.
